Storie di ville e giardini
Dimore private nella provincia di Perugia – Vol. 3
With the publication of the third volume of “Stories of villas and gardens” the Province of Perugia continues the work of enhancing and promoting the historical sites of the area with the intention of making them usable and visitable by a wide public. The author guides us to discover villas and castles of perennial charm, some with a long history behind them, which dates back even a thousand years. Leafing through the evocative pages of the book, we learn about the stories of the families, the changes of ownership of the mansions over the centuries, but we also discover the love and dedication of the current owners who have worked to ensure that these priceless heritages do not go lost forever, often carrying out very expensive restorations. The various residences are surrounded by suggestive and large gardens which act as the perfect culmination to a dream setting, but with roots firmly planted in history. In this volume the protagonists are: the castle of Petroia, the castle of Sorbello, the castle of Civitella Ranieri, the castle of Monte Vibiano Vecchio, Palazzo Graziani, Palazzo Tempestivi de Petra, Palazzo di Bagnaia, Villa Aganoor Pompilij, Villa La Palazzetta, Villa Oddi Baglioni, the church and convent of San Bevignate and the medieval garden and abbey of San Pietro.
