The SILVA Expedition series is intended for expert and professional users.

The Expedition Series has been a world leader in accuracy, precision and durability for many years.

The SILVA Expedition series comes with two completely new features: a Slope board and a Scale lanyard.

The SILVA Expedition features an easy-to-handle Dryflex ™ case, silicone rubber feet for precision work, detachable safety release rope, bright lights, magnifying glass, a clinometer to measure slope angle, measures in mm or inch maps, 1: 25,000, 1: 50,000 and GPS scales, plus built-in adjusters for magnetic declination (including permanent local adjustment).

The expedition can also map 1: 40,000.

The slope is great for both identifying the risk of an avalanche and determining how difficult your journey is.

By knowing the slope you can also judge any extra distance you will need to go due to the slope.

The ladder lanyard has two ladders on it; 1:25 and 1:50, makes it easier to measure the distance of the excursion.

Since it is soft and foldable, it is easy to place it directly on your route on the map.

The new graphics contain a more distinct arrow (Expedition) and also a more contemporary font.

If you need a traditional bent base compass with high end functionality, the compass should be your choice.

If the terrain calls for a mirror sighting compass the Expedition S is your optimal companion.
