The Pale di San Martino are the largest group in the Dolomites, with approximately 240 km2 of extension, located between eastern Trentino and the province of Belluno, in Veneto. They extend into the area between the Primiero (Cismon, Canali, Travignolo valleys), the Biois Valley (Falcade, Canale d’Agordo) and the Agordino. The Pale plateau, located in the central sector of the group, rocky and almost lunar, oscillates between 2500 and 2800 m above sea level.
