The passion for Umbrian agricultural and hilly landscapes and their history has led the authors to discover and tell thirty best-known itineraries between the river and lake in the region. The walks between the Tiber and Trasimeno, accompanied by maps, height difference and practical indications to deal with each itinerary correctly, develop in the territory of the 13 municipalities of the Mountain Community Association of Municipalities “Trasimeno – Medio Tevere” retracing old farm and neighborhood roads that a time they connected small inhabited centers, rural aggregates and farmhouses, to trace the signs and stories of the places, of the men and women who inhabited them.
The paths cross woods, pastures, olive groves, vineyards, agricultural fields and unite small villages, ancient parish churches, castles and abbeys in a widely man-made context. There are many references to spontaneous vegetation and native species that draw and characterize this splendid landscape.
