Walking between the Tiber and Lake Trasimeno
30 Itineraries through the landscapes of memory
The passion for the Umbrian agricultural and hilly landscapes and their history led the authors to discover and tell thirty itineraries between the most famous rivers and lakes in the region. The walks between the Tiber and Trasimeno, accompanied by maps, gradients and practical indications for correctly tackling each itinerary, develop in the territory of the 13 municipalities of the “Trasimeno – Medio Tevere” Mountain Community Association of Municipalities, retracing old farm and local roads that time they connected small inhabited centres, rural aggregates and farmhouses, to trace the signs and stories of the places, of the men and women who inhabited them.
The paths cross woods, pastures, olive groves, vineyards, agricultural fields and unite small villages, ancient churches, castles and abbeys in a widely man-made context. Many references to spontaneous vegetation and native species that design and characterize this splendid landscape30 Itineraries through the landscapes of memory.
