The Valle Aurina territory occupies the catchment basin of the Aurino stream which runs through the luxuriant valley floor for its entire length, from its source upstream of the town of Casere/Kasern to the natural lock of Campo Tures, over 30 kilometers further downstream. A truly extraordinary territory full of contrasts, this remote corner of Italy, nestled in the northernmost point of our nation. It is a characteristic alpine valley characterized on the orographic right side by the impressive rocky wall of the Aurine Alps which surrounds the main valley furrow to the north without interruption. In this mountain group there are numerous peaks over three thousand meters high, which culminate in the 3420 m of Cima di Campo/ Turnerkamp in Valle di Riobianco. This splendid cordillera, embellished by numerous glaciers, stands over 2000 meters above the valley floor where the numerous and charming inhabited centers of the valley are nestled. An uninterrupted chain of mountains, whose landscape has been shaped over the millennia by the action of the glaciers, in which to follow splendid highly panoramic excursion itineraries.
