In the geographical heart of the Alps, next to the borders with Switzerland and Austria, lies one of the most beautiful and important protected areas in Europe. Born in 1935, passed thanks to successive expansions from the initial 8,000 hectares to the current 134,619, the Stelvio National Park is home to very high peaks such as Ortles, Gran Zebrù and Cevedale, marvelous spruce and larch forests, high altitude pastures and waterfalls, a hundred lakes and mountain lakes and the same number of glaciers.
