74 excursions from simple walks in the woods of the gentle Varesine Prealps and on the panoramic peaks of the Lariano Triangle to trips along the splendid walls of the Grigne, from adventurous excursions on the isolated ridges that surround Lake Como, to spectacular treks in the wild valleys of the Orobie Alps.
Then there is the high mountain, the one that comes closest to the sky and that appears imposing in Valchiavenna and Valtellina, where the refuges are there to welcome walkers who want to admire up close the grandiose peaks on which the history of mountaineering.
In short, the new Walking in Lombardy offers classic excursions, but also many unusual and surprising itineraries.
The itineraries in the guide have been tested and described by a team of authors (hikers, mountaineers, journalists and medium mountain guides) who have frequented and know the region well for years: Giorgio Orsucci, Boris Mosconi, Nicola Giana, Riccardo Ghislanzoni, Luciano Bruseghini , Matteo Tarabini and Andrea Toffaletti. The work was coordinated by Beno, creator of the quarterly mountaineering and alpine culture magazine «Le Montagne Divertenti».
The photographic apparatus, varied and of the highest quality, boasts shots by internationally renowned professionals such as Roberto Moiola and Roberto Ganassa, working for the Clickalps agency and for years collaborators of sector publications such as «Meridiani Montagne», «Le Montagne Divertenti» and «Orobie». Added to these are names very familiar to mountain enthusiasts: Luciano Bruseghini, Emilio Buzzella, Enrico Minotti, Andrea Toffaletti, Grazia Tarabini, Gioia Zenoni; as well as the curators themselves – also photographers – Beno, Giorgio Orsucci and Boris Mosconi.
