L’Aquila and the Conca Aquilana-Teramo and the Teramo coast-Pescara, the sea and the valleys-Chieti, the hinterland and the trabocchi coast-Abruzzo National Park-Majella National Park-Gran Sasso National Park and Laga Mountains. Molise: Campobasso, central Molise and Matese-Isernia, Upper Molise and Upper Volturno-Termoli, Lower Molise and the coast-Isole Tremiti. Strengths: centrality of Italy from a tourist point of view; relaunch of L’Aquila after the post-earthquake; Abruzzo first non-EDT destination in the 2020 tourist ranking; possibility of discovering entire regions and not just the coast, in line with the trend of slow and conscious tourism, off the beaten track; in Abruzzo there was an increase in tourism and accommodation facilities, as well as a boom in mountain tourism in 2020 thanks to well-equipped destinations but at lower prices than in other mountain resorts.
