The story that is told in this book ranges from the Middle Ages to the contemporary and deals with the theme of long-term equilibria, in which a community remains suspended between land and water, from which it draws insufficient sources of livelihood that force it to project itself temporarily or permanent outward. But it is also the story of a modernization that took place during the twentieth century which caused a deconstruction of the structures defined over the centuries and which derives from the use of water sources for energy purposes. Today, precisely through the recovery of an ancient tradition linked to the therapeutic use of water, seen in a new dimension with spas conceived as a place of attraction and recreation, Triponzo can recover its ancient strategic role, become a centripetal moment for the whole Valnerina. The analysis of the past thus allows us to accompany the dynamics of a new development and the definition of a different balance between community and territory.
