Itinerari medievali Umbria vol. 3

In recent years, the path of St. Benedict has become a destination for both pilgrims and lovers of Umbrian nature and history. It is a road dating back to very ancient times, to which was added, in the Middle Ages, the itinerary of religious piety, following the foundation of monasteries, monasteries and hermitages, initially by the followers of Saint Benedict and then by the friars of Saint Francis. Our work aims to propose a historical, artistic and naturalistic journey through the Valnerina and the Reatino, to rediscover, in addition to the canonical places dedicated to the two saints, the less known villages, castles, monasteries that often escape the more hurried tourism. We wanted to add a hint to the agricultural and gastronomic culture of the area, with a series of recipes. This volume is part of a larger project to enhance and get to know the Region directly, implemented with the publication of various manuals collected in the “Itinerari umbri” series
